STILLWATER, Okla. -- Mason Rudolph tossed three second-half touchdown passes on Saturday, sparking Oklahoma State to a 38-31 win over Iowa State at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Cowboys trailed 31-14 late in the third quarter before Rudolph went to work. He found wide receiver James Washington for two of the scores and tossed another to wideout Jalen McCleskey, finishing his day 26-of-44 passing for 351 yards and four touchdowns.

Rudolph's 3-yard pass to Washington with 3:40 to play provided the game-winning points. Washington totaled eight catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

It was a second straight disappointing late loss for the Cyclones, who led Texas Christian by 14 in the fourth quarter last week, only to lose on the game's final play.

Cyclones quarterback Joel Lanning threw for 179 yards and tossed two scoring passes in the second half to send his team to the two-touchdown lead. Wide receiver Trever Ryan had six catches for 74 yards and a score, while receiver Allen Lazard caught five passes for 44 yards and two touchdowns.

Iowa State led 17-14 at the half after controlling the clock and the game, although the lead changed five times.

Cyclones quarterbacks Lanning and Jacob Park combined to complete 17-of-28 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown. Lanning started, but Park connected with Lazard for the touchdown - a 3-yard pass that made it 10-7.

Tailback Justice Hill scored on a 5-yard run to send the Cowboys back in front 14-10, but Iowa State running back David Montgomery's 1-yard scoring run with 2:58 remaining put the Cyclones in the lead at the half.

Rudolph completed 10-of-18 passes for 165 yards, with a 33-yard touchdown throw to wideout Jhajuan Seales.

Iowa State outgained the Cowboys 268-205 through two quarters and ran 55 plays to Oklahoma State's 32.
